I bought a Ryzen 5 1600 soon after they released. Recently I started using WINE to run my favourite game instead of rebooting into Windows, and my PC has been crashing and locking up quite often. It's locked up a few times when using Chromium too. Today it started seg-faulting in gcc when I was trying to compile WINE (ironically to see if a different version would be more stable). On Googling I discovered that there's a known problem in some Ryzen CPUs, making them unstable under heavy loads in Linux. My RAM passed all tests in memtest86, but when I tried the ryzen-test script it froze quite soon (just after starting loop 11), so I think I'm suffering from this bug. Are AMD still offering replacements for affected customers? How would I arrange that and/or confirm the bug?
