Ryzen 3600x idling at 75-80c
When idling my temps for my cpu average around 75-80 then when playing games my cpu temp instantly jumps up to 95-100c and sometimes on boot-up my cpu temps are reaching somewhere in that range as well. not sure how to fix this.
PC specs: Gpu - msi gtx 1660, ram - 16gb 3600mhz thermaltake toughram, ,motherboard - b550 tuf gaming

To me it sounds like a CPU Cooler issue.
It is either not installed correctly, not working correctly, Defective, too weak for your CPU or poor air circulation inside your PC.
Remove the side panel and see if the CPU temperatures are slightly lower. If it is does then that indicates poor air circulation inside your PC.

See if you have some program/s running in the background, maybe with something just recently downloaded.
Is this a new build?
If it is a new build, try reseating CPU block.
If not a new build, may be time to reapply some new thermal paste.

Macca, please do not be taking your machine apart when we have no understanding what the problem may be. The maximum temperature for the 3600x is 95C, so you cannot not see 100C. Please post screenshots of Ryzen Master (RM) both Basic and Advanced views running Cinebench R23 (images of RM only). Thanks and enjoy, John.
