ryzen 3400g and displayport

hello

I have an AMD Ryzen 3400G chip on an Asus TUF Gaming x570-Plus

I have 4 x Corsair 8Gb DDR4 2133MHz = 32Gb RAM

the Bios is updated to the latest version : 5003

I am using Manjaro Plasma 23.1.0

I have two Dell G2742D monitors

I would like to daisychain them from the display port but when I do connect them (MB displayport to first monitor Displayport 1; first monitor displayport 2 to second monitor displayport 1) the second monitor is not seen;

I can get dual monitors to work if I connect one to the MB displayport and the other to the MB HDMI port

I have asked Asus technical support but so far they haven't answered the question and  indeed barely seem to understand it...

I would be grateful for any help : am I doing something wrong, or is there something not right about my setup or....?

thanks in advance - and happy CHristmas to everyone!

Is the monitor model a typo? I found Dell G2724D (not 42) but nothing to indicate that model supports DP Out ie. MST.

If they do support MST there should be a OSD menu setting on the monitor to set one of the ports as DP Out.

Since you are using 2 Dell Monitors daisy-chained here is Dell Support on how to correct connect them via Daisy-chain: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000134286/how-to-setup-multiple-monitors
