Can anyone please tell me why does the igpu throttle during playing games ? It drops the boosted frequency 1100mhz to 200mhz or 400mhz just for few seconds but it causes fps drops and so the game lags. I did see this happening in some gameplay videos on youtube but wihout any answers to solve this issue. I have the msi a320m bazooka motherboard. Is this just an unfixed issue by amd or some compatibility issue with my mobo and this ryzen 2200g proc ?

I am facing the same issue on my ASUS A320M-K MOBO, I even tried gpu boost to extreme frequency and manual too

And can you do such things like set the gpu frequency in bios with a320m

mobo? Because i cant with my msi a320. And what do you think what might

cause this behavior of igpu?

there is a option in 'Ai tweaker' in bios called

Gpu boost it contain 3 modes

Normal mode,Turbo mode,Extreme mode

currently using extreme mode performance is quite better now,

yesterday was playing assassin's creed 1 at max settings with 200+ frames and suddenly it drops to 16-20(200mhz gpu) for around 2 seconds and thn again to 200+

by using extreme mode AC1,Sleeping dogs and Naruto ninja revolution working more than fine

but fortnite is exception with everything on low game is still lagging and gpu freq. dropping to 200-400 in every 10 sec.

i think its Ram issue coz i am using 2400mhz ram,

what are your pc specs?

I thought its doing only on my mobo, hmm very interesting. The same happens

to me frame drops and gpu freq drops to 200mhz or 400 then goes back. Not

always but happens. I dont think its the ram because there is video on

youtube by techdeals that shows the division game lagging the same way as

its with us and he did use 3200mhz ddr4 ram. My specs are msi a320m

bazooka, ryzen 3 2200g, 8gb ddr4 2400mhz(clocked to 2700mhz). Can you check

your temperature of gpu when it drops to 200mhz ?

Msi afterburner is showing 0 degree,lol

if u know any app similar to it let me know,

Ryzen 3 apu

2x4gb ddr4 2400mhz ram

Download and install cpuid hwmonitor. Run this app then run your game. Play

the game until it happens again the 200mhz freq then quickly press alt+tab

to switch to hwmonitor so you can check the temperature. But you must be

really quick because as you switch to this app the temperature starts to

fall down. Please try this then let me know what did you find out.

thats my office pc and today is sunday.

today my big brother bought Mortal Kombat x without even asking me if its going to run or not, so wil test it aswell

Max gpu temprature 67 degree (Gpuz) after 15 min. of Mortal kombat XL gameplay

res.1440x900 60hz everything high

game was not playable even when frames were around 40-50 (gpu freq. 400 mhz to 600)

then i changed 'Particles' in advanced video setting from gpu to cpu,then gpu freq. was between 900-1100 game was running on solid 60 fps and even touched 91 after around 1 minute of gameplay gpu freq. dropped to 200mhz and killed my mood and game started lagging in every 20-25 seconds.

in my opinion getting 1060 3gb ver. or any rx series dedicated gpu is my only option

Thank you for your feedback, this so poor that this happens with this

budget apu. There is got be something wrong with the agesa codes in bios.

Or you can buy board with b350 chipset and you can set manually the gpu

freq to stock and it wont drop to 200mhz etc. This the same even with b350

chipsets when gfx clock set to auto, so buggy bioses on all boards ??? But

how did they test these before releasing ?

there was around 35$ difference between a320 and b350 at my place thts why i bought a320

changing the board after 15 days of use in not possible

hav to sell it as a 2nd hand mobo and hav to buy a new one

waiting for another bios update is my only option or getting gpu in 5-6 months till then hav to manage with this

I thought that the latest bios will help to improve the performance, but as

you wrote it didnt. I dont have the latest but the very first one that

supports the ryzen 2000 series. Will there ever be a bios with no bugs?

only if msi and asus get enough complaints for this issue,

that i don't think they wil get

every single youtuber is using b350 a320 is good for ryzen 1st gen. i guess.

i informed this issue to the store owner from where i assembled the cpu. wil visit him today

check youtuber Techepiphany he uploaded a fix for this issue asus a320 mobo. which din't work for me but you can try.

getting my board replaced from asus service centre to B350M-A by paying diffrence amount of around 40$.

it wil take around 2-3 days but happy with ASUS they are replacing my Used mobo

Better idea is using GPU-Z which has a show highest temperature option hence no need to be quick

I have a similar problem with my ryzen 2400g and dayz, but is the cpu part that downclock to 600 mhz for about 2 seconds (maybe the video is downcloking as well but I can't see it)(using ryzen master to see)

Hi, what mobo are you using with your ryzen 5 ? To monitor your gpu/cpu

clocks use msi afterburner.

B350 gaming (not the 3 one) from Gigabyte it only happens when I oc my igpu and it doesn't care if I overclock or downclock the e CPU part

got my a320 replaced today got B350 and the issue is solved.

Mortal kombat XL every thing on high  900p running at 60fps,on heavy graphical load fps down to around 45

Mr.lucky did you do anything special, i mean if you have set the gfx clock

to manual speed or is it on auto as before on a320 ?

when bios was on default same issue occured so i changed gpu boost manual mode 1100mhz

ram freq. to 2400 from auto

2gb igpu memory.

now performance is similar to youtube videos

Yeah i thought you did that. Looks like its the only option how to fix this

for now. But if you set to 1100mhz does it stay at it always even when idle

in windows ?
