HI, 

So here is my config:

Ryzen 2700x 

B450 MSI CARBON PRO WIFI 

RAM ALL G.SKILL TRIDENT Z: 

- 2x8 GO 3200 MHz 

- 2x8 GO 3600 MHz 

So what happens is either if I take 3200 or 3600 I can run them just fine in slot 2 and 4 in my MOB without any issue and their rated speed with a A-XMP profile. But, if I install my ram in slot 1 and 3 it can only be run at 2933MHz with either 2x8 3200 or 2x8 3600 (at 2933mhz like I said). I just can't get why these two slot are causing such issues. 

Now what I know: 

It's not the MOB it is rated to run at that speed with that RAM that is allll good. Good to mention that I also had a ASUS B450M GAMING PLUS before I thought it was MOB for sure so I bought this new one... and I still got the same issue so this is something else. 

This issue is also preventing me from running all 4 sticks at 3200MHz. If I want to run all 4 it has to be at 2133MHz (DDR4 base speed). 

So now what's wrong with what I'm doing.... please help me had this issue for now a year (since I bought the CPU).

PS:

Drivers are up to date

Freshly installed windows 10 (up to date) 

BIOS is up to date

Chipset driver is of course up to date 

Voltage of DRAM is at 1.35 V I even went up to 1.45 without any results, I also changed the mem controller voltage a little bit

I used DRAM calculator without any success with fast and safe option

I swapped each stick in each slot on each MOB even lost skin on my hands in the process did it so many times

I did MEMTEST86 4 times 4 pass it's all good. 

CPU is not overclocked

Check your motherboard's QVL List for your RAM and see if it is compatible with running in 4 slots at 3200 or 3600 speed.

Another Asus User had a similar issue and after enabling Asus DOCP in BIOS it started running at the correct RAM speed. Otherwise it was running at a lower RAM Speed and was unable to run it at 3200 or 3600 Speed.

How do I enable DOCP on my Asus?

F7 to get to advanced menu. Choose "AiTweaker", down to "Ai Overclock tuner", Choose DOCP. Down from it is DOCP from which you can chose any of XMP profiles written to RAM. Below is "Memory frequency", start by choosing same as in chosen XMP.

Hi thanks Elstaci for your support. I was sure it was compatible but just to make sure I went on the website to look it out and here it is: 

1866/ 2133/ 2400/ 2667Mhz (by JEDEC)
2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466 MHz (by A-XMP OC MODE)

I had the exact same issue with my ASUS mother board it couldn't work over 2933 MHz on slot 1 and 3 only. It was all good for slot 2 and 4 I could push it up to 3600MHz. Does slot 1 and 3 are different on memory controller than 2 and 4? With ASUS I also used DOCP and no luck. I used X-AMP on MSI because there's no DOCP (X-AMP is the equivalent I think) and it didn't work.

I found yesterday that by leaving the voltage on AUTO and not using any profile just forcing the frequence to 3200MHz I could make it work. It stopped working after I changed my booting sequence of my computer. Even after reinitializing it couldn't work anymore. Had to lower it to 3000MHz for the 4 sticks. This is so weird it's driving me crazy... since I'm not using profil I guess timing are different (if using a profile adjust timing) I didn't look for it could it be related?

If you go to the specifications page you linked then hit details and then the link for see supported memory it lists every stick of memory that has been certified with that board with the number of ram sticks it supports at that speed.

Your problem is that you are using 2 different speed memory kits which probably have different timing latencies.

The motherboard does the best it can to match them.

Even with matching kits a lot of memory won't support that speed with 4 sticks.

See if you RAM is listed and how many RAM Memory slots it is compatible to run on motherboard's Memory slots.

I found that some 3200 Mhz are compatible on 4 slots whereas others were only compatible with 2 slots.

All of G-Skills 3200 Mhz is not supported on 4 Memory slots on your motherboard only 2 slots:

EDIT: Normally these QVL list are out-dated so I would highly suggest you open a MSI Support ticket to find out if your RAM Memory is compatible with 4 slots since all of the G-SKill 3200 and probably above on the QVL List shows that it is only compatible on 2 slots and not 4 slots.
