Ryzen 1300x and RAM issue

Hello,

I have a ryzen 3 1300x and a kit of 2*8gb g.skill 3000mhz ram (mobo asus a320 ex gaming) for 1,5 years. However, always when i set the memory at 3000mhz (XMP) in bios, it crashes (blue screen) just a few minutes after i log in windows. It only gets barelly stable at 2933mhz. I have read that ryzen 1st gen doesn`t support the memory speeds of 3000mhz and 3400mhz. Is that true?

If it is true, does 2nd gen has the same problem? I`m asking because i want to do an upgrade to a ryzen 5 2600x, and i`d like to know if i will keep having this annoying trouble if i upgrade.

Oh, and i checked in asus website that my mobo is compatible with the speeds of 2133, 2400, 2666, 2800, 2933, 3000, and 3200mhz, and my memory is also listed in QVL list of memories.

Thanks in advance for your help!

pammds, memory is stranger than most things.  I have a 1950X and a 2990WX and I run 3200 MHz memory in both.  I cannot say what kind of memory you can run in your system.  ASUS has something called DOCP and I suggest you talk to them directly about.  If you are really using XMP in your BIOS and not DOCP, I would expect your system to work at 3000 MHz, but please ask them.  Enjoy, John.
