R9 9950x Bios vs Ryzen Master

Hi all.

Very new to AMD CPU build. I have just built a R9 9950x on a MSI X670e MAG wifi board. 96Gb memory

2TB NVMe boot drive 12TB Nvme and 12Tb ssd storage. GTX 1080 8Gb graphics card. For the software i use a graphics card plays no part at all.

I built this setup to run 1 program only which is Pixinsight. I do astrophotography and combine hundreds of images in the 200-300mb file size for each range to make a final image.

With the latest Bios from MSI and a fresh install of W10 and the latest drivers from AMD inc Ryzen Master. My dilemma is this.

I can in Bios get memory to run at 6000 but CPU speed is only at 4.3MHz. In Ryzen Master i have it set to 5MHz all core which is stable and tested. I click apply it reboots but when i go into Bios. It still says 4.3MHz. Also looking at Ryzen Master my core use is all over the place. I can have 1 core at 5.7MHz all cores at 1.2MHz or 4 cores at 3.8MHz.

I'm not getting 5MHz constantly.

My software will use every core available and as much of my memory as it can. Currently its using 78Gb.

What am i doing wrong if anything or is this how It's supposed to work.

My old system was a 14 core Broadwell running all cores at 3.4MHz which is a lot faster than i am seeing with this CPU.

Use master to change config on fly. After finding the best values and testing (both require a lot of time and changes) just set it in the bios. Master prevents you from rebooting your pc hundreds of times while doing this.

Uninstall Ryzen Master.

Load optimized BIOS defaults.

CPU will boost up to 5.7GHz based on load, power and thermals.
