My RYZEN 2600X is running 20C hotter than BIOS

I have a brand new PC.

I have a CyberpowerPC MasterLiquid Lite 120mm ARGB CPU Liquid Cooler with Dual Chamber Pump & Copper Cold Plate on my CPU.

At idle my CPU temp is running at 65-75°C on average. When Im working with Chrome open, it will jump above 80°C occasionally.

When I' running a game like Destiny 2 at max graphic settings it runs consistently at 75-82°C.

Is this temperature ok, for a prolonged time? How would I fix this?

My Specs:

  • Graphics Chipset - Radeon RX 580 Series
  • CPU Type - AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor

I heard that there is a AMD software bug that shows 20 degree difference.

My BIOS shows 20 degrees less than a temps from RYZEN MASTER program, Core Temp, and BIOS. see screenshots

hanzgruber, there is no AMD bug!  The rumor is nonsense.  There are lots of free and other temperature applications reporting nonsense, though.  The reference is Ryzen Master (RM).    ONLY RM should be used for CPU temperature measurements.  Here is your processor specifications:

Your maximum temperature is 95C.  I think you are fine.  All Ryzens have an temperature offset which is applied for fan control.  RM compensates correctly and users need only look at the RM reported values.  BTW, there is an image icon to post images as I have.  Enjoy, John.
