Is it recognized in BIOS? Have you tried different cables and different ports?

Yes, recognized in bios. Shows in device manager as Other Device.
Bios settings are correct and the SSD (I have a few are functional.
The chipset is:
A55BM-A on an ASUS motherboard M32BFDP_MB
The problem is either the chipset or the driver.
Any ideas?

Yes. tried different ports, different cables and different ssds. The issue is the chipset A55BM-A
Can you research that set and see what the proper driver would be to recognize an SSD....

If other SSDs are recognized on the ports and cables you are using, then the problem must be the drive itself.

If you notice from my FIRST post I have both drivers:
1.2.1.359 and 1.2.1.402
so are these the correct drivers?
Are there any other drivers?

The CORRECT drivers are the ones which ship with Windows, you shouldn't even need to use AMD's driver package. SSDs are plug and play.

That is the nucleus of my problem.
I think my chipset is OK.
However the drivers associated with it identify it as an AMD chipset and it is associated with an AMD driver.
I have the option of 2 different AMD drivers and neither of them will work.
Is there a way to delete just the AMD drivers and let it reinstall with the microsoft generic plug and play driver???
I know that driver is in my operating system somewhere because my DVD uses the save driver.
When I right hand click on the ATA SATA driver and click on Update Driver the microsoft driver does not show up.

After I do that I will have to reboot and I'm not sure if the computer will recognize my HD which is connected to a SATA port. Do you see any concerns there??
