Is the AMD fx8350 cpu compatible with a Gigabyte 970A-DS3 AM3+ rev.1 Motherboard

Both are am3+, does the  Mobo have to be above  rev.1 ?

According to Gigabyte Support concerning compatible Processors for your Motherboard it isn't listed: GA-970A-DS3 (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE U.S.A. 

So the FX8350  ISN'T COMPATIBLE with your Motherboard.   I don't understand why because your motherboard does support FX processors with 125 watts like the FX8350.

Same goes for versions 1.1 & 3.0 of the same Model Motherboard.

I suggest you open a Gigabyte Support ticket and find out why the FX8350 is not listed as being compatible.
