Is my CPU temperature okay?

I have a AMD Ryzen 5 7000 series processor and I was wondering if the temperatures are okay.

At idle, I'm averaging between 36°c - 55°c. And when under stress it averages at 60°c - 78°c.

I've always had an Intel CPU and had low temperatures, now that I've switched to AMD, I notice that the CPU temperatures are higher.

Is this normal or is this something to worry about?

That temperature range (36°C - 78°C) is completely normal for a Ryzen 7000 series desktop processor, as they will boost frequency and voltage until hitting max boost frequency, PPT power limit or 95°C thermal limit.

What specific model processor and CPU cooler do you have?

Ryzen R7 5700X | B550 Gaming X | 2x16GB G.Skill 3600 | Radeon RX 7900XT
Ryzen R7 5700G | B550 Gaming X | 2x8GB G.Skill 4000 | Radeon Vega 8 IGP
Ryzen R5 5600 | B550 Gaming Edge | 4x8GB G.Skill 3600 | Radeon RX 6800XT

It appears to be. Ryzen 7000 is designed to target 95c and boost until it hits that temp. My 7700X would spike up to 95c and quickly level off in the 70c to 85c range with zero impact on performance.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI, G.SKILL TRIDENT Z NEO 2x16GB DDR5 DRAM 6000MT/s CL30, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, LIAN LI EDGE 1300, Corsair MP600 PRO NH 4TB

Thanks for your reply.

The processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6 Core Processor

Cooler: NZXT Kraken 240 RGB

I have used this same model cooler on an Intel i5 CPU, and temperatures were normal.

I want to know if my Ryzen CPU is being cooled properly.

Those are your specs?

Surprisingly, I have the same motherboard as the one you mentioned.

It seems to be a good board. I bought it specifically for the button to release the GPU. Got tired of using pens and chopsticks to release the latch.

Yes exactly. It's the type of motherboard that has all the little features that you could possibly need without spending so much money only for one component.

The board is astetically pleasing, as the main board isn't over exposed.

It has been pretty stable compared to some other boards out there. I am regretting choosing the ASRock B650 Pro RS WiFi for my brothers build. It's a decent board, but it has it's quirks. Right now, I am pretty sure the system bogging down to less than 30 FPS on desktop is because of it. That is for another thread though.
