need at least 6 cores.
Need to know what Motherboard Make & Model you have to determine what upgrade it will support.
There could be many FM2/FM2+ processors that will fit in your motherboard. But your motherboard would need to have the correct BIOS version installed for the new processor to be recognized and used correctly.
Please post your motherboard's Make & Model.
My mother board is ASUS F2A85-M. Do not have any other info on the board.
Appreciate you help.
Ron
Here the link to Asus Support showing all the CPU Processors that motherboard supports with it corresponding BIOS Version: F2A85-M CPU Support | Motherboards | ASUS Global .
Here is the list of CPU from above link:
There more than one variations of your motherboard model besides F2A85-M. There is F2A85-M Pro and F2A85-M2. but it is possible they all have the same Processor list but need to check anyways in case it might differ slightly between models.
Look at the list and see which CPU you would be interested in upgrading to. Use this link to get all the Specs on the processor you are interested at upgrading with to determine if it is what your want: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/
EDIT: Unless I missed a processor, your motherboard doesn't support any 6 core processors. Only 4 cores or less by the list of processors shown.
Some FM2 socket motherboards supports FM2+ Processors but yours doesn't. So you would need to upgrade your motherboard to be able to use a 6 core Processor or higher.
Many thanks for the info.
