Description of Original Problem: CPU Temperatures running high. IDLE CPU TEMPS: 60-75c IDLE VOLTAGES: 1.45. I also upgraded my CPU cooler to a iCUE H60x RGB ELITE CPU Cooler The radiator was running insanely hot, so I decided to check to see if it was a faulty pump. I switched my CPU cooler back to my old AMD Wraith Stealth Socket AM4 cooler, and the temperature still hovered around 70-90 C
Troubleshooting: I decided to check to see if it was a faulty pump. I switched my CPU cooler back to my old AMD Wraith Stealth Socket AM4 cooler, and the temperature still hovered around 70-95 C.
The Thermal paste I used was CORSAIR - TM30 Performance Thermal Paste.
Hi there, I'm sorry but a single 120 rad isn't really that good. You should aim for a h100 or a h115. 240 or 280 respectively.
The Wraith Stealth is also a poor choice for that CPU...
Only problem is my case doesn't really allow for that kind of cooling
Another users with a 5900X at this thread was having a similar issue but with a strong Corsair CPU Cooler.
After a lot of troubleshooting it turned out to be a defective CPU processor: https://community.amd.com/t5/processors/5900x-temps/m-p/615161#M54808
Here is AMD Recommended CPU Coolers for your Ryzen 5800X with a TDP rating of 105 Watts: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/cpu-cooler-solution
I'll try and request a new CPU to test it out, and get back to you. If all else fails, I'll cough up the money for a better Cooler.
Thank you for your help though.
What windows power plan are you using, and your chipset driver is ancient.
