I recently bought a Ryzen 5 5500 but recently it has been lagging, so I downloaded Ryzen Master to check it out and I was met with this,
and it has continued to stay like this and mind you I was idle and not going under any type of load, Please help.
If your CPU speed is 1941MHz there is some process running, it's definitely not "idle" but it does seem strange that the EDC usage is so high in comparison.
Make sure that your motherboard BIOS is up to date, and chipset drivers and Ryzen Master software are on the latest version.
Hello FunkZ,
I have tried updating my motherboard and it keeps greeting me with, "invalid file" and at first I thought maybe had the wrong version and had to get the previous one first but no, I was getting the version and updating in order and this was still happening
LightVTL, post the full RM screenshot as requested, a complete list of your parts and a link where you DLed the new BIOS. We can be of NO help without information. John.
Invalid file is just that - the BIOS file you downloaded is not for your motherboard.
Run msinfo32.exe and post back the System Manufacturer and Model.
System Manufacturer- To be filled by O.E.M
Model- A320m/ac

Lol @ To be filled by O.E.M
According to Google you have an ASRock A320M/ac

Are you trying the 7.40 - 2022/11/11 file?
What version are you running now? If you are below 7.00 you have to upgrade to 7.00 first.
I am on version 3.30 and I have tried updating to 4.00 and that didn't work so then i tried going to 7.00 and that didn't either.
Contact ASRock support.

thank you
Hey there FunkZ, I have finally updated my bios to 7 thanks to you and everyone else here. However I am still dealing with the same issue and now I'm stuck at another road block.
Good to hear you were able to update the BIOS to 7.
However per the CPU support list, for the Ryzen 5500 you need to be on at least 7.1
I would suggest the latest non-beta BIOS version 7.4

LightVTL, what issue? What Roadblock? We can do exactly nothing with no information. Post the requested screenshot of RM. John.
LightVTL, Funz is correct. Please post a complete screenshot of Ryzen Master (RM) in your "idle" situation and list all your parts. Home built or pre-built? Have you modified EDC or any other limits in RM? The screenshot does not make sense. Do a Clear CMOS and try again. John.
will do, trying to get this fixed still
First I wouldn't use Ryzen Master to try and lower the EDC since as soon as you reboot you have to reset it again. It is best to go directly to BIOS Settings for a permanent fix.
PBO and Core Performance Boost in BIOS Settings can cause the EDC to be high.
But first go to Windows Power Plan and set your Processor's State at 5% low and 99% or 100% high and see if it affects your EDC at idle or not.
You can always, temporarily, disable PBO (AMD safe way of automatically overclocking your Processor) or Core Performance Boost and see if it affects your EDC or not.
On two different threads on other forums I read Users with the same problem as your with different processors one disabled PBO and CPB in BIOS and that lowered its EDC limit at idle and another Users set in Windows Power Plan Processor State at 5% and 100% with the same effect.
