In Linux console. there is the dmidecode command that can tell you a bit about your rig.
Somebody with a BIOSTAR X370GT5 used the Linux dmidecode which said the motherboard was able to handle up to 256 GB of RAM suggesting the expectation of 32 gigabit memory chips down the road.
So given the large number of Linux users here I was curious what other makes and model motherboards are saying about max memory.
today 32GB memory sticks are down to 800 beleaguered pesos for a set of 4 sticks to give me 128GB. 64GB sticks are still insanely expensive but eventually I can see 256GB on a personal computer.
so let's all see what the DMI can allow us to really use.
