Hello

I am wanting to purchase the Asus Strix B350 F Gaming motherboard and the Ryzen 5 2600 CPU

I know there is a BIOS update required which needs an older chip to help out before the Ryzen 5 2600 can be recognised.

I have an old A4-3300 CPU in a box, can I use that to help with the BIOS updtate?

Someone mentioned on youtube that I need an AMD A4 chip to do the update.

No, that's the wrong socket. AMD will provide a boot kit if your retailer and manufacturer will not update the BIOS for you. AMD Again Offers UEFI Update Boot Kits for Ryzen 2nd Gen CPUs​
