ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac, XFR2 and PBO options not present

Hi all.

I've just paired a Ryzen 5 2600, with ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard and 16GB(2x8) of 3200Mhz RAM (G.Skill F4-3200C16D-16GVKB).

Although RAM was not on QVL list, they worked from first moment through XMP profile.

System runs alright, but I cannot find the option for the XFR Enhancement in the BIOS menu. It should be there, but it's not!

Also, when I run Ryzen Master and move the mouse pointer over Precision Boost Overdrive option a label that says "Future feature in development" pops up...

After some hassle, I've contacted ASRock support. They verified that the option should be there. I've sent them some screenshots showing that it was not present in my BIOS menu where it should be and they suggested a CMOS clear. Did it, but the option still doesn't show up... So, they're still on it and I'm waiting...

I have the latest chipset drivers from AMD and the latest BIOS firmware installed.

Also, tried both with single and double sticks of RAM, but nothing too...

Has anyone had same experience or knowledge about this?

Perhaps this question you should continue to ask ASRock

This is the problem of ASRock's BIOS.

Should be given a solution by them

Sorry, I don't have the same configuration and can't test it.

Thanks for the reply.

I did ask them and they say that PBO is available with Pinnacle Ridge "X" CPUs, but unfortunately not with "non-X" CPUs...

I am wondering if this is an AMD issue or not and if it will be available with an chipset in the future update in the future, or a BIOS update by ASRock...

Pinnacle Ridge Ryzen CPU without X, such as your Ryzen 5 2600, still has features like XFR or PBO

But in fact, I don't recommend overclocking the Ryzen 2 generation CPU based on Pinnacle Ridge.

For example, if your Ryzen 5 2600, if you don't overclock, rely on PBO and XFR2, your maximum frequency is 3.9 GHz. If you overclock the all cores to 3.9 GHz, it will cause a big increase in power consumption.

If you don't overclock to 3.9 GHz, your single-threaded performance/single core performance will suffer

Maybe you should go to the ASRock community and ask if there is a better solution.

Of course, based on what I said before, you can still have a good experience without overclocking.
