AMD Ryzen 7 8700G + MSI PRO B650M-P = TPM 2.0 Enable in BIOS but not visible by Windows 11

Hello,

I do have MB PRO B650M-P with Ryzen 7 8700G with Windows 11 23H2
For months, Windows doesn't see TPM 2.0.
I triple check my BIOS and TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are well enabled.
I updated
- My BIOS to laste release 7E27v1D1
- My AMD CHipset Driver to latest release 6.10.22.027
No change.

I can read on web multiple problem and I do not see what I can test more. I read news about known bug unsolved between AMD and Windows.

Is-there someone who can share his experience? With all forum I saw, I doubt being only one in that situation.

Best regards.

Finally, my reseller confirmed my CPU was KO. I just received my MB with new CPU and all is working fine TPM module included.
Be aware it may happened you CPU is OK in term of performance but TPM module KO.

Check in msinfo if secure boot is On.

You could also ask at https://www.elevenforum.com/ where someone can help with any troubleshooting steps.

As you can see, even if TPM is enable in my BIOS, Windows do not see TPM enabled.

Unfortunately,  michaue, I cannot see because the image is unreadable and in a language I do not read. Here is what a screenshot of mine looks like:

Please try again, Google will translate for me. John.

How did you install W11 with no TPM?

My screen shot is empty as Windows do not see TPM module.

In red rectangular, it is written there is no TPM module.

Thanks, michaue. Please answer my question: how did you install W11 with no TPM? John.

It was in April and I do not remind at all. It is really strange.

michaue, this needs to be understood. If you used RUFUS, for example, to be able to install W11 without a TPM then whatever patch it put into your install disk is still there. I suggest you do a fresh install of W11 including formatting of your C: disk. John.

Hi, just curious.. did you by chance have tried an older bios version? Also some boards have an option for a hardware TPM. The CPU/chipset have a Firmware TPM..

After enabling security device in bios does it say anything like AMD CPU fTPM?

Hello,
I tried old BIOS as fresher one, I do have same behavior.
Once I enable TPM, I do not see AMD CPU fTPM or similiar.
I share my BIOS screenshots in both configurations, no change.

I'm more and more convinced trouble is coming from BIOS.

Did you go into advanced mode … shouldn’t make a difference though..

AMD MSI Motherboard

  1. Enter BIOS by repeatedly tapping ‘Del’ or "F2" on the startup of the PC.
  2. Make sure to enter ‘Advanced mode’ by tapping F7.
  3. Navigate to "Settings" box.
  4. Navigate to "Security".
  5. Select "Security Device Support"- Set to Enable
  6. Navigate to "AMD fTPM Switch" and set to [AMD fTPM].

Hello @atmosphere ,
It is exactly what I did if you see my BIOS screenshots.

michaue, you need to share this thread with your MB vendor. Something is seriously wrong that they are responsible for. John.
