About 3 days ago I noticed my PC was overheating due to the fans being on 80-100% 247.
Cpu has been idling at 85-95 and I haven’t found a fix yet. Can someone please help me.
I’ve re installed windows, that didn’t fix anything…
Specs: 2080 Super, MB Asrock (not sure which one it is at this moment), Ryzen 5 3600.
Does it have any load in idle, like animated wallpaper? What does Task Manager show about the CPU load in "Performance" tab? Did you update your BIOS before this started? I can recommend manually locking your CPU to a certain clock in BIOS while disabling all auto clock tuning features, full manual control only. Or you can try and lower the power limit (TDP/PPT) of your CPU (I never tried it though and I don't know if your motherboard has the corresponding BIOS setting) to, say, 65W and see how it fares.
Stroud415, please stay out of the BIOS and post a screenshot of Ryzen Master (RM). Also post a complete list of your parts. Thanks and enjoy, John.
90ºC idling? You sure about that?
That really looks like a cooler with no thermal paste, fans not working or the plastic peel has not been taken out when new.
Do get us a pic on windows with a solid temp sensor like Ryzen Master or HWiNFO.
If that persists, I would double check that cooler and CPU.
I agree with @johnnyenglish if I were to take a shot in the dark, your cooler is either mounted improperly or the thermal paste needs changed. Since you said it just started overheating I would guess it is time to change paste.
Other than those options, it could be possible that something at startup is just tasking your CPU too much which is resulting in high temps. Does the temps get that high if you restart into safemode?
90 is way hot for a 3600, your cooler is not positioned right. When did this start? What was it before?
My laptop cooler is fixed and works but not that much much to cool the laptop then what should i do now.
