AMD Ryzen 5 1600 tech. 14 nm >>> Windows 11 upgrade problem

Hello AMD processor team,

I 'm owner of processor AMD Ryzen 5 1600 tech. 14 nm. This processor is not listed for Windows 11 upgrade, but in general it's above with performance limit in comparison with minimum requirements. Could you pls make a magic asking Microsoft to add this model to the supported list as I would like to migrate to Windows 11.

I understand that the first Ryzen CPU was a true innovator, but I believe its time to move on.

In some way this might sound like throwing good silicon to the bin or planned obsolescence, but its not. Windows support will end on 14th October 2025 so we still have roughly 2 more years of Windows 10.

In the meantime, AM4 still have options, if you are in a pinch and for some reason and need Windows 11. Check if your board supports a 3600X.

Ryzen 5 1600 AMD processor is a "ZEN" processor that isn't compatible because it doesn't have the technology to fully support Windows 11.

So Microsoft is the one that determines if it is compatible or not. So far all ZEN processors are considered to be incompatible technology wise to fully support Windows 11.

Need to upgrade the processor to be able to upgrade correctly to Windows 11.

There are work around to prevent Windows 11 from checking the processor that is installed.

I believe it's fTPM 2.0 that's the problem, the Ryzen 1000 series doesn't have it.

However it may be possible to purchase a separate TPM 2.0 module for your motherboard, rather than use the built-in processor module.
