Super strange problem. Recently built my first gaming PC and only when booting from a cold start (as in I haven't used it for a few hours), The CPU (7700x)  seems to be overheating itself intensely, all the way from 90 C up to 115 C(see image), fans going nuts on the AIO, until the computer crashes after about a minute or 2. After I reboot or boot when it has been on with in the past few hours, everything works fine. CPU gets a little warm at the start but doesn't crack 80 C and during heavy gaming doesn't crack 90 C. Any idea what could be causing this? I've updated my bios to FCd on my B650 X AX rev1.3 motherboard which I thought would fix it and didn't. I've turned off nearly all startup apps which delays the overheating but will still allow it to hit temps of 115 C then crash (off cold boot, running no programs, task manager says nothing is overworking). Can't be the AIO/thermal paste because it works normally after a reboot. Could it be a virus? I've scanned a bunch with different anti-malware and my Bitdefender with no errors. Don't mind doing a quick restart to fix the issue if I hear the fans not calming down but I fear this is greatly damaging my components and am not sure if I should just attempt to use the warranty or return the CPU, AIO, or motherboard. Or do a clean wipe and install of OS? Can I just get a replacement CPU from AMD because the CPU shouldn't be allowing itself to get that hot randomly off cold boots if at all (cap 95 C?)? Will they replace my motherboard if I burned the connections when I check due to their chip?

The build is AMD 7700x, MSI MAG Core Liquid 360R V2 AIO, Gigabyte Gaming X AX B650 rev1.3, 32GB RAM, 850w power, etc.

Update: Opened up the CPU and it looks like no visible damage to the chip but the motherboard is a bit torched. Still unsure of which is the cause. May look to replace both with warranty.

I see no evidence of overheating in what you posted. Please post a screenshot of Ryzen Master Running Cinebench and at idle. The utility you used  has a bad history. Your CPU cannot be getting to 115C without shutting down the system. Thanks and enjoy, John.

MSI MAG Series of AIO has had overheating issues in the past to the point that MSI initiated a recall: https://www.msi.com/Landing/liquid-cooler-swap-application

Sounds like your AIO is defective and it is intermittent when it is cold. I would definitely open a MSI Support Warranty ticket to have them check since when it does work it work normally which indicates it was installed correctly.

The processor is certainly overheating if it goes to 115c which is why your computer shut down. The processor is engineered to shut down the computer if the processor goes beyond a certain overheating temperature to prevent damage to the processor.

I would first check your MSI AIO CPU COOLER to see if it needs to be replaced or repaired. Meanwhile you can use a high TDP Rated Air CPU Cooler (200 watts or higher TDP rated)  to see if the same thing occurs while waiting for your AIO to arrive.

This way you can check your processor and PC to make sure everything is working and not damaged.

My FX8650 overheated and shut down a couple times while under stress due to a defective CPU Cooler. Both the PC and processor worked normally after I replaced the CPU Cooler, as an example only.
