hello everyone, I need a motherboard with at least 4 x16 pciei, i dont care about about pcie version. I need to install four 10 gigabit pcie card.
So you just need the slots and it doesn't matter if they actually run at x16 speed or not? The ASUS Prime B650M-A will fit that bill.
PCPARTPICKER is a good website to find Motherboards with your specifics: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#s=33,41&mt=ddr4,ddr5&h=0,4
Just input what you are looking for an a list should pop up on the right showing which Motherboards are compatible.
This foreign website has several Motherboards with 4 PCIex16 slots on it: https://pangoly.com/en/hardware/motherboard/pci-express-x16-slots/4
Seems like you need to look at the AMD ThreadRipper latest Motherboards (TRX40 Socket) which are Consumer Motherboards but almost similar to Server Motherboards from the above website.
Not cheap though.
Hello, thanks, yes I found what I want, when I searched the website, the motherboard was not realized yet "ASUS Prime B650M-A AX AMD"
Tom777, why do you think you need 4x16 PCIE lanes for 40 Gigabits per seconds worth of NICS? Each PCIE 5.0 lane will give 4GBps or 32 Gigabits per second. There are also PCIE NICS with 2 or 4 interfaces, so you could get by on one card in one slot. Good luck, John.
Hello, first a QSFP+ NIC and SFP are expensive and you need a switch that support it, our switches are I 10G and we have plenty of 10G NICs.
I found this “ASUS Prime B650M-A AX AMD”, it will do the job (and its almost half of QSFP NIC)
