7800x3d Temps discussion.

Hey everyone, I just got my hands on a new Ryzen 7800x3d and I have been loving it's performance in gaming, But I have noticed that it has been running extremely hot, like reaaal hot while gaming or rending a scene in blender. As soon as I start an all core workload, the CPU shoots up to 83-85C and then settles in at 87C despite having a beefy CPU cooler (Be quiet Dark rock pro 4), and being on Open air in a 20C room. I have updated to the latest BIOS for my motherboard, I've reinstalled the cooler, making sure that it has good contact with the CPU, Reapplied thermal paste, Nothing worked, I'm wondering if this is just a quirk of the fact that the 3D V-cache is stacked on top of the Hot CPU cores, impeding thermal transfer between the cores and the IHS, or is there something wrong with my particular chip. What kind of temps has everyone here been getting?

Thanks

Even though the air cooler you have is sufficient, AMD does advise use of a liquid cooler for optimal performance. Also you are using a 750W PSU for an RTX 4090 FE when its recommended you use a minimum of 850W

Hi there,
83 to 87 on full load isn't that bad.

What about gaming? What's the averages?

You can try applying curve optimizer or offset undervolt to get those temps down.

Good Luck
