I had a 3700X running at like 4.3GHz. Replaced it with the 5800X3d. Everything is set to Auto in the BIOS. DOCP on. CSM on or I can't boot. BIOS EZ Tuner is set to ASUS Optimal. Downloaded the chipset drivers from AMD.com. Used Armory Crate to update everything else.
f9weC5nnto, the 5800X3D is locked and cannot be OCed. I don't know what all the effect of CSM but it may be a problem and you should not be running it anyway. Why are you running, specifically, not just it won't boot. Are you running in UEFI mode and are all your drives formatted GUID Partition Table (GPT)? I recommend that users not use any MB vendor Tuner/Optimizer. Please post a screenshot of Ryzen Master (RM) running Cinebench R23. No images of anything but RM. Thanks and enjoy, John.
It's supposed to run at 4.5GHz isn't it? It boots, CSM was just context of what I changed from the defaults after updating the BIOS. I don't have Ryzen Master installed.
I have ASUS TUF Gaming Plus MOBO and I went into the BIOS and noticed the core ratio was set at 36.00 or 3600. I changed it to 4500 and that's when everything (win10, hwinfo64, amd adrenaline) finally recognized it at 4.5ghz. Home Bargains Portal App
jessieswett, here is a SS of my CPU-Z. Notice the ratio says 4.5-45.5, so I do not know why that seemed to correct you problem. If you watch it for a while it changes as Ryzen SOC boosts. That link you posted looks like an advertisement and should be removed. Enjoy, John.
I don't get the core ratio after updating the BIOS. I did have it before updating, and tried setting it to 45 but with everything else set to auto it seems to just reset back to 36.
As I said before, the 36 is the current while 5.5 to 45.5 is the range. Run Cinebench R23 and watch CPU-Z and the current will rise and fall. John.
Ran Cinebench and Ryzen Master and it caps at 3600 exactly.

Everything in the BIOS is set to defaults or Auto, except I turned CSM on as it's necessary to boot from my drive and DOCP is on. ASUS Optimal energy configuration is on.
f9weC5nnto. No problems seen and there is plenty of room for more performance. At this point I suspect you must turn off CSM. I would also suggest to turning off DOCP. I definitely recommend you uninstall whatever application is ASUS Optimal...and restart your system and see if it is better. Why is CSM required to boot? Is the boot disk GPT? Please do some research to determine what is causing this. It looks like CPB is disabled in the BIOS - please check. Thanks and enjoy, John.
It's a GPT drive and it won't boot without CSM. If I turn DOCP off my RAM will run much slower. "ASUS optimal" is an option on the BIOS for supposed power tuning but I also tried Normal and switching it doesn't even trigger any changes to save when I exit. Those are the only two options and something has to be selected.
Actually.. no it's MBR but still it won't boot without it.
f9weC5nnto, it needs to be GPT. You need to convert it to GPT but the conversion will delete all your data so be sure to copy all the data to another disk. Since this is your system disk it will probably not allow conversion. I recommend a fresh install of Windows and be sure to format the disk to be installed on to GPT. Save you data first. So happy I found this thread! I'm having the EXACT same issues! So I've got ASUS Prime X570 Pro Mobo and have updated the BIOS to the newest 4602 (for that mobo, it dropped earlier this month) and also have done the Window 11 chipset update as well as the drivers for the 5800x3D. Same exact issue. Not boosting to the 4.5 clock and I want to say that I tried to change the cores from 36 to 45 in the bios but it just reset to the 36. Here's my Ryzen Master running multi on CinebenchR23. I've been told that I shouldn't use that program, but I'm just using it for monitoring and not for clocking. Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is as hot as it got but normally stays around 45-60. I've also been using PBO2 and I think this was -25 on all 8 cores. 114-75-115.
