5800x3D dual channel not working

Hello everybody,

After en extensive research on the internet and multiple tests on my side, i'm coming here for help. English is not my first langage so please have mercy on my writing skills.

I've recently upgraded my 3600 for a 5800x3D on a x570 I pro wifi mini ITX Aorus motherboard latest bios. But no post, fans are spinning except graphics card ones and AIO screen/ ram lights are lighting up. Rapidely found that my pc only boots correctly with and without xmp with 1 stick in A1 slot but NOT with both slots populated or only B1. Tried with 5800x from a friend and same problem but this processor is working fine on his config with dual channel.

Bought 2 more ram kits shown in my configuration but still same problem. The last kit I bought was even on the QVL from amd and recommended by Kingston as working on my mobo.

Downgraded to 3600 and everything is working fine on all ram kits and xmp enabled without even touching ram to eliminate any bias.

What I've tried :

  • Multiple ram configuration
  • Clear CMOS with pins and batterie removal
  • Update and downgrade bios from the first compatible BIOS with 5800x3D
  • 5800x but same problem
  • Downgrade to 3600 and working fine
  • JEDEC 2133mhz timings
  • Checking pin damage on socket and processor
  • Checking shortage on mobo
  • Resocketing processor
  • Different mouting pressure for AIO

My configuration :

  • X570 I pro wifi motherboard with latest bios available
  • 5800x3D / 3600
  • 2x8Gb Corsair vengeance pro 3200mhz cas 16 / 2x16 Corsair vengeance RT 3600mhz cas 16 / 2x16 Kingston renegade 3600mhz cas 16
  • 6700xt sapphire pulse
  • AIO NZXT 240mm
  • 750 watts platinium rated corsair PSU
  • Samsung 970 EVO+ boot drive

I'm just out of options and I've invested way too much money on test hardware, to no avail... Do you have any recommandations ? Is this an AGESA bug or incompabitibility ? When I searched the problem it seems VERY widespread across different MOBO vendors and no one got a technical answer that could work. Do you have any advices or solution ?

Thank you very much !

Hi,

I've just came across this issue. We have similar set up. Unfortunately, I was only able to run both sticks when I set them on Slots 1 and 2. Hope that helps!

If you tried your friends cpu and still no luck, It could be a board issue.

I would try the 5800X3D in your friends board to eliminate the CPU completely.

Then you may have to contact gigabyte support.
