hi...

i use 5600 x and the clock is always max speed and the fan runs all the time,even on idle.

any suggestions?

Make sure windows is not on max performance mode in power options

it isn't...my clock is high...but my temp is at 38 celcius

Have a look in task manager to see what/if any processes have high cpu use.

Could be an App./software set to run on startup.

Could be an incorrect bios setting.

i checked task manager...nothing suspicious...

What make/model motherboard ?

And what monitoring App. is showing the high cpu clock/fan speed ?

my mb is PRIME B550M-A (WI-FI) (AM4) my asus.

for monitoring i use NZXTcam

I am not familiar with that motherboard but my Asrock z370 has a sort of multi core enhancement setting in the bios and if that is enabled they will run at max clocks.

I don't know what Asus calls it but it could be something like that
