Hello,
My spec:
CPU: 3800x with stock cooler
Mobo: MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI
RAM: 32GB, 3200 Mhz
I have a problem with my 3800x CPU, it will not boost neither of it's cores up to the max frequency of 4.5 Ghz under the load.
I have run test with Cinebench r20 (Single core), but as I've said neither of cores could not hit 4.5 Ghz which I measured with HWInfo64 by looking in the 'Maximum' column for frequencies, usually the maximum I can get on the fastest core is 4425 Mhz.
Still, if the processor is not under any significant load (no heavy programs opened, mouse standing still etc.) I can record boosting up to 4.5 on 3 cores.
So now I am wondering should I ask for refund or this is normal behavior ?
Or is there anything else I can do to make CPU boosting up to 4.5 at least on 1 core ?
I have updated Bios, Chipset drivers to the latest as of this day 18.10.2020.
Most of Bios CPU related settings are set to Auto, I tried with this settings as well
- Global C-state Control = Enabled
- Power Supply Idle Control = Low Current Idle
- CPPC = Enabled
- CPPC Preferred Cores = Enabled
- AMD Cool'n'Quiet = Enabled
- PPC Adjustment = PState 0
but no luck
