2700x System Build issues across two MOBO ROG 470 Game F & 470 Crosshair 7 Hero
ROG 470 Game F issue: 2700x, SniperX memory (16GB), and a ASUS STRIX 1080 8GM gaming GPU. Unit starts to boot but quits
about 500milliseconds into the POST RGB lights illuminate and stay on cycling through their colors. I suspected the memory or the
MOBO having issues, tried all the normal reseat, one stick of mem, made sure all on the vendor list. No effect. Sent it all back except
the 2700x ...
**Problem follows to this next attempt**
ROG CH 470 7 Hero: Unit starts to boot but quits about 500milliseconds into the POST RGB lights illuminate and stay on cycling
through their colors. The system tries to post but again with this board I see the seven segment report for about 500 milliseconds and
then just stops. The RGB Islands stay on and the start button (small individual one on the board) stays illuminated. Same things tried
normal reseat of all cables, one stick of mem, made sure all on the vendor list, GPU reseated with no effect.
No OS has been installed, No BIOS update tried, and this was built on a bench set up not in a case (Thank GOD!)
Suspect 2700x CPU at this point. Ideas?
Could be the CPU. When my first 1800X went faulty it had all the symptoms of a HDD and motherboard failure.
Thanks! I actually have another CPU coming in today ... thanks amazon prime (even though I hate their model).

spin1963, I assume you inspected the processor carefully for bent pins, TIM on the pins and other damage? Hard to believe you got two bad MBs. Enjoy, John.
Thanks! Yes, I sure did ... I actually have a magnifier here in the shop. This is an odd one, I will say the following across to models of board led me to believe it could be a short in AIO cooling ... but the PSU does not shutdown.

Well, it looks like I found the problem: Corsair has a bad pinned MOBO PSU cable on the HM750i I bought to power the system. Also, the PSU appears to be dead. I first switched an EVGA cable over to the Corsair unit with no result and then swapped over a new EVGA 650W PSU. Magic all posted and the system is posting this message. Thanks to all that replied!. Hello Corsair? Yes, I need a new PSU and cable set. Unreal. Weekend shot trouble shooting trying not to damage equipment.
