2400g boot errors and crashes

Hi,

I upgraded my system and have been having problems with it since.  Searching the net has reveled many problems with the 2400g.  My configuration is

Motherboard: gigabyte ab350m-ds3h

                       asus prime b350m-e

Memory: hx424c15fb2/8

HD: wd 1tb, gold series

OS: fedora 27

I have tried two different mb with similar results.

Minor issues 1: Takes a long time for display to refresh if it has been idle for sometime.

2: A number of boots error are present

Major issue: 1.  System crashes very frequently and I have to reboot.

Any advice?  If there is  a warranty for the 2400g, I believe I wish to act upon it but I do not know how to initiate the process.  Very limited

contact information  available.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have tried all the current kernels4.15.17-300.fc27.x86_64

4.16.3-200.fc27.x86_644.16.4-200.fc27.x86_644.16.5-200.fc27.x86_64

Actually the 4.15.17-300.fc27.x86_64 kernel may have worked the best.

On the gigabyte board, it came with bios F21 which was to work but I loaded the most recent bios, F23d, for the mb and no difference. On the asus board, it came with bios 3803 but the website says for the w400g, it should have 3203.  The website says the 3803 is for the 1600 and 1600x processor but I assume 3803 is more current.

Thanks.

Al

High,

I suppose you're using precompiled kernel from the OS-vendor ?

Few years ago I switched from that kind of packages to a 'more generic' kernel. At that time I was on Mint, with it's own kernel. Turned out, the Ubuntu generic low latency kernel was more up to it, and (microseconds) faster. Dunno if that works for your OS, or even there's a chance to try low latency.

Cheers
