Will a RX 5700 work with just a 6 pin PCIe supplementary power supply?

I have a new RX 5700 but the new hardware isn't being detected. My PSU doesn't have an 8-pin PCIe, so it's just running with a 6-pin. The card is seated fine and it's onboard fan is running.

not a hope in hell, the RX 5700 needs 8-pin cables as the card is 225W TDP or so

you need a 650W or better PSU
