Starting in Q4 of 2021 Radeon 6000 series GPU card will have GDDR6 RAM installed: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2021/11/01/2324456/14450/en/Micron-Delivers-High-Performa...

They are talking about GDDR6 ONLY..not GDDR6X..which is faster than the first one and used on Nvidia cards.

Okay but AMD is just coming out with GDDR6 which is less expensive than GDDR6x.

So if AMD has plans on using GDDR6x in their GPU cards they will announce it before they come out.

I imagine AMD will make GPUs with GDDR6x in the future if Nivdia GPUs gives them an edge in performance over AMD GPUs.

From what I read only the upper class of Nividia GPU cards uses GDDR6x. Most use less expensive GPU Ram.

Probably not as simple as just attaching 6x modules to the PCB, from an article late 2020.

So a new memory controller and PHY chip from AMD and possible redesign of power tracing on the PCB to be designed and produced ?

Not an expert by any means, just my take on it.
