ga-h97-hd3 - was h81m-k but i switched to see if it was the problem and it wasnt

rm650x

vega64 nitro standard release was rx 460

8gb ddr3 1600mhz + 2gb ddr3 1600mhz i tried using 2x8 and 1x8 and it didnt work so ram isnt the issue either

the gpu worked at my friends house and i have no idea whats going on..

the only logical reason is that its not compatible with my cpu, but that doesnt make sense either.

vega on 100% usage and 1654mhz clock speed and still gets barely 40 fps on gta.

and it basicaly cant run any games while maxing out.

im using two different power cables for the gpu and its running at pcie 3.0 16x according to gpu-z

My guess would be Vega 64 being bottlenecked but hard to know for sure. Would look into a 2600x or something and some ddr4 if you can.

What resolution are we talking about? Do you have VSR on or something like that?

its alright now, there were some cpu settings that were holding me back.. i underestimated this bottleneck.

but with everything other than grass on ultra everything is fine now, thanks!

you might want to modernize your box with a AM4 processor and 32GB of memory to better leverage the Vega 64
