Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 PRO 20H2
GPU Drivers: Adrenalin Driver Version: 21.5.1 (Driver only)
Description of Original Problem:
High GPU usage on seemingly light task (See photos below). From browsing to just drawing rectangles on desktop causes the GPU usage ti spike 50%+ usage. Needs a lot of restarts for it to seem to work properly. Sometimes it will loop a few times on boot to detect the VGA, and when it finally loads Windows, it's very SLOW. Sometimes the display will draw slowly from top to bottom (like when loading images back in dial-up internet days)
Watching a stream on Twitch uses GPU - Video Decode to 30-60%+
Playing a frekin' GIF uses 30%+ GPU - Decode
Watching x264/x265 movies on VLC uses GPU - Decode to 40-100%
Drawing rectangles on the desktop, for godsakes, uses GPU - 3D to 30-80%+
Sometimes the screen will hang then just turn black, whatever sound was playing is still playing, but the PC won't detect my monitor anymore. And it SEEMS the problem starts whenever I install a driver.
This has been bugging me for a month now and now I'm thinking my GPU is Dying
Troubleshooting:
- DDU and installed different versions of display drivers
- Clean re-install of Windows (Ver 1903)
- TDR fix
- Re-seating GPU, CPU and RAM
- Different PSU cable
- Updating Chipset and BIOS
- Turning off/on GPU hardware Scheduling
- /dism /sfcscan /chkdsk
- Clearing CMOS (shorting and removing battery)
Any help is greatly appreciated
