Having issues getting the best output from my current setup. If I want anything higher than 8bit output I have to drop down to 30Hz
Dell Inspiron 13 5415 laptop
Windows 11
AMD Ryzen 5500U
Hisense 43 inch A7G TV
"Mokin" USB-C hub with HDMI that supports 4K 60Hz - connected to TV
The laptop supports DP over USB-C and I believe the spec is DP1.4.
When outputting 4K 60Hz I'm restricted to RGB 4:4:4 8bps which looks awful on this TV. Red text is particularly bad.
I've discovered if I drop to 30Hz then the AMD software gives me the option to select YCbCr 4:4:4 10 or 12 bit. This then fixes the image quality so it looks great.
Does anyone know if the setup above is actually capable of 4K YCbCr 4:4:4 10 bit 60Hz?
I've tried two different HDMI cables that are supposedly HDMI 2.0 and/or 2.1.
AMD software is showing a link setting of 8.1 Gbps x 2
If the setup isn't actually capable then I'll stop trying to get it to work, but would be good to know either way!
