So in my previous Laptop which was a Alienware M17 early build, it had NVIDIA and had this weird shimmering which occurred literally everywhere. No matter what I did I couldn't find a solution. I have my new better PC Desktop but without any updates (maybe a Windows security patch?) while playing Batman: Arkham Knight I randomly started experiencing shimmering in the games.

I have tried a few things in the settings like turning stuff off, making the resolution lower and using the image Super Resolution mode in case that would solve it but it just makes the area that this occurs bigger. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

Windows 11 64-Bit

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

West Digital Black 2TB SSD

AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT

ASUS ROG STRIX B550-S GAMING (Wi-Fi)

Phantom Spirit EVO

Why are there no updates? Your system should be updated regularly, though I can understand being hesitant on a Windows 11 system after all the borked updates for that poor OS. Your hardware should definitely be updated. The BIOS should be the most recent stable one for example, and the GPU should be updated with the most recent stable driver, either 24.10.1 or the latest AMD preview drivers: 24.20.19.05

I meant that I have adrenaline edition which says it's up to date and I have kept everything else up to date too. I hadn't updated anything else and the only thing I can but cant seem to update is the BIOS which mine is 3607 but the newer is 3611. I began playing Arkham after the 16th, so unless somehow uninstalling Xbox and the game bar did it somehow? I stared using the controller and then uninstalled both programmes when I felt the controller was a bit limiting.

I'm worried that these two did it somehow because those two programmes and the controller being a recent addition are the only things that changed and when you disconnect or connect the controller sometimes the fps will drop. I used a keyboard again but then after a restart or shutdown I think it started happening.

Clarification: The controller would do this before the issue started happening.

Only recently did I notice this shimmering.
