I'm having an issue with my RX 6800 where it's not fully utilized unless I enable AMD Chill or Frame Rate Target Control and set it to around 240 FPS or higher. With these features on, the card easily maintains 240 FPS and can exceed this if the limit is set higher. However, when these features are disabled, the card struggles to consistently hit a frame rate above 170 FPS (depends on the game but lower performance is a guaranteed without them sadly), despite having enough performance headroom. GPU-Z and Adrenaline both show that the card isn't fully utilized, so it should be able to handle more.
I've tried clean driver installations and a fresh Windows install, but the issue persists. Any ideas on what might be causing this?
Here's my setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
- Windows: 11 22631.3737
- latest adrenaline / chipset drivers
- Motherboard: MSI B550M Pro-VDH WiFi
- GPU: RX 6800 Swift 319
