Hi! I have a 2018 Mac Mini, and got a Radeon Rx 580 in a Razer Core X eGPU to support it. My monitor is an Apple Thunderbolt display. Currently I'm connecting the RX580 to the Mac, and the Mac is using a USB-C to Thunderbolt adaptor to connect to the monitor.
I'd like to try to connect the monitor directly to the card, as there may be a performance improvement. I'm using a HDMI to Thunderbolt adaptor, but when I restart with the monitor connected to the card the monitor stays black. Any ideas?
