Hi,
The latest drivers for my RX-480 Video card are 22.11.2 which were released on 12-8-2022. The current drivers drivers as of 12-21-2022 are 22.12.2.
Question: Is the RX-480 now legacy?
Thanks for any information you can offer.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Most likely the other GPUs will update to the 22.12.2 version soon.
Here is one of the GPUs that is using that version at far as I know:
Depends on the GPU. Not all drivers are the same for all GPUs.
For instance the AMD Driver for the 7950X Integrated Graphics is the same one your posted 22.11.2 BUT the GPU driver for the RX7900XTX version is 22.12.2 as an example only.
The GPU is an MSI (AMD) RX480. I am trying to determine if it is no longer supported. Here's a pic of what I have. I purchased this GPU new when I built this PC about 3 1/2+ years ago.
Yes it is still supported. As far as I am aware all RX GPUs are still supported.
If the GPU wasn't supported when you go to AMD Download page for the driver for your GPU card it will state "LEGACY" somewhere on the page like the following for a R9 300 series GPU card:
Plus I haven't heard any news from AMD about putting any RX Series GPUs in Legacy status.
Here's what threw me off. I got an email from AMD about 22.12.2 drivers being available. However, they are not available for most of AMD GPUs as of this date as far as I can determine.
I appreciate your assistance. Thanks for taking the time to help.
