Since upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, I've been experiencing a screen freeze issue in certain applications. The freeze only affects the upper portion of my screen, while the lower part continues to function normally. To temporarily fix it, I need to switch windows and then return to the original application, which unfreezes the screen for a time. When I share my screen on platforms viewers do not see the freeze, it only appears on my end.
Disabling GPU hardware acceleration removes the issue, but I don’t have the option to do this for all applications. I’ve tried multiple versions of AMD Adrenaline, including the latest release, but the problem remains the same.
One thing I have noticed is that after uninstalling the driver using (DDU) and then reinstalling it, the issue temporarily disappears. However, it returns after 1 day (sometimes within just a few hours).
For reference, I’m using an RX 7800XT with Windows 11 Pro, version 24H2 (build 26100.2033), installed on 30/10/2024 with Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.23.0. Please see the attached photo for an example of the issue.
