RX 7600 going to 2900mhz

When playing FH4, my RX7600 goes up to 2900mhz. Advertised boost clock is 2755mhz. Should i be worried or is it okay? The last time i could only play like 3 mins before it crashed with driver timeout error, and now im scared to open FH4 again

Is this a reference model RX 7600 or a partner card?

Are you using the Default Adrenalin profile?

Have you tried one of the other Tuning presets or modified the fan curves?

Ryzen R7 5700G | B550 Gaming X | 2x8GB G.Skill 4000 | Radeon Vega 8 IGP
Ryzen R5 5600 | B550 Gaming Edge | 4x8GB G.Skill 3600 | Radeon RX 6800XT

1)It is Gigabyte RX7600 Gaming OC

2)I did not change anything so yes

3) No i havent tried any other presets

I also noticed it sometimes goes to 2800-2900mhz in battlefield 3 but i can play it just fine.

I will try to run FH4 again today and post the results

EDIT: So i have ran FH4 and it ran almost smoothly

last time the game crashed on spring(intro) with AMD driver timeout.

Today i was able to complete the intro and even a race. The clock speed was still sometimes staying at 2800-2900mhz, even spiked up to 2911mhz one or two times.

The only thing i have expirienced was a 1 second stutter, where sound and image became glitchy.

If something happens i will update this post. But still, why does the clock speed exceed the advertise boost clock?

There have been some other users who posted their partner "OC" card is attempting to exceed advertised clocks and causing problems.

Here is one example of an ASRock 7700XT.

https://community.amd.com/t5/graphics-cards/issues-with-rx-7700-xt-need-advice-on-overheating-and/m-...

That user was able to underclock/undervolt the card and get it stable.

I suggest you open a support ticket with Gigabyte and present to them your evidence showing Adrenalin overclocking your card to 2800-2900+MHz and causing issues.

Somewhere between the partner "overclocked" cards and AMD Adrenalin software there seems to be a problem.
