Hi,
I recently bought a brand new PC, i'll post the full spec below, with an RX 580. Installed both borderlands 3 and Outer worlds and notices that while they ran smoothly most of the time both games had regular frame rate drops. I have done some investigating and tried numerous things to fix it. I have also been back to the PC builder and they suggested a full driver uninstall and re-install which I have done with no change. These are the things that I have tried to fix the problem before I contacted the company that built it -
• Updating the GPU Drivers to the latest full release
• Updating the GPU Drivers to the latest optional release
• Turning the power limit on the wattman settings up to 50
• Undervolting the GPU
• Changing the Fan speed profile
• Updating the Windows 10 power settings from standard to performance
• Downloading other games such as Gears 5 and getting identical frame drops
• Using other games launchers to be sure it wasn’t that
• Installing the same game on the SSD rather than the M.2 to make sure it wasn’t a drive issue
• Making sure all games are running DX12
• Checking for abnormalities in the BIOS settings
• Running all the games in lowest graphics settings (this makes absolutely no difference)
It is most noticeable when in the pause menu of Outer worlds, I have attached a a photo of MSI afterburner monitoring Outer worlds last night. I have a video of it actually occurring but its too big to attach. I am currently waiting on a fresh reply form the PC builders but thought I would post it here as well.
