The last 2 weeks i get at least once a day this message , also i had 3 crashes in the last 2 weeks , i see more people
has this problem , but nobody has given a answer/solution .
I have an RX560 and i am not doing anything special with it ( mostly watching youtube and browsing )
It also keeps me telling to UPDATE but i already have that ( latest ) version .
Can some one tell us more about this "error" ?
Thanks !
Youtube in full screen mode sometimes causes random video driver crashes for me....... I assume it's because the Radeon drivers and youtubes hardware acceleration method don't get along for some reason..... if you're noticing this happening alot, you could try disabling hardware video acceleration in your browser(you'll probably have to google how to do that, but I know it can be done), or simply stop watching youtube full screen, and see if that solves the issue.
Another observation is that for me, this didn't really start happening until after one of the big Windows 10 creators updates(I don't remember which), so I halfway think Windows 10 is part of the issue.
It is not only with Youtube , it happens random ( like just being on the desktop , or watching a movie with VLC player )
I think you are right , that the latest win10 update is the problem ( in combo with Radeon drivers )
An other problem that i have , is that i can't see ( find ) WATTMAN at all , not in my radeon menu or elsewhere . Any
idea why is that ?
I had a similar issue after upgrading to the latest Adrenaline drivers 18.12.3 from 18.8.2. I did a clean install of the 18.12.3 drivers, followed by adding my X470 chipset drivers back in and the issue was resolved.
Thanks , i will try that !
For more effect , I've downloaded DDU ( display driver uninstaller )
Will try it tomorro , and will let know the result ( maybe after a few days if it seems resolved )
Keep us updated! The effect was pretty apparent for me. On 18.8.2 I had no issues opening youtube/twitch video feeds. After the update, opening certain feeds would cause a black screen that would recover with a Wattman restored message. After the clean install, everything functions normally again.
