Hi everyone, i just moved to radeon gpus last month ago, since then im having some issues with my rx 7600 xt
The gpu just frozes the pc, the screen just locks there or goes full black screen. This is happening me at any moment, randomly the pc just freezes on mid game or just idling doing nothing at all im desperate looking for any solution, all of these things i just did and the issue its still there (Drivers v24.8.1)
-Reinstalling windows 11
-Updating mobo bios
-Using ddu before installing the new drivers
-Tested old drivers
I have the same exact issue replica-table on MULTIPLE PCs with multiple brand new cards. If you look around online you can see the same exact thing from everyone else with this card. There is no fix. XFX wants to RMA the 2nd card I got from the 1st RMA the have already done. This issue isn't getting fixed by anybody, nor is it even being acknowledged by AMD or the manufacturers of the card. As far as I can tell we have 2 options. We can sell it online to someone else and knowingly screw them over, or take the L and suck it up and buy a different card. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. My bet is this is the only response you will get because no body know how to actually fix it.

I have an xfx 6900xt that has had these black screen issues off and on since I purchased the card. the first card died while playing rdr2 only 3 months after buying it. the replacement card has not died but experienced random crashes. when the crash happens, SAM becomes disabled in Radeon software despite still being enabled in bios. to fix it, I have to turn 4g decoding and resizebar off, then on, then save and exit bios.
Fix that works if the crashes are random in idle:
Install 23.12.1 driver.
All the 24.x.x drivers have aggressive power saving that force low voltage in idle and if a more intensive task is fired (like an update for an app in background), it will crash with black screen.
23.12.1 is the latest driver that did not have this ugly power saving.
Hello I have this same issue and this driver version 23.12.1, its not compatible.
if you check amd old drivers offical web page the oldest version available is 24.1.1
Dont know what else could be helpful
23.12.1 is compatible with all 7000 GPUs, unless your GPU model was released in 2024 (7600 or 7900GRE). Which drivers do you think people used for the AMD 7000 GPUs in 2023?
23 - year
12 - month
1 - driver version
Just make sure to completely uninstall current drivers with DDU and install 23.12.1.
If you just replace the driver and keep Adrenalin from any 2024 drivers, it will not work.
If you have one of those 2 GPUs, then the only option is to disable ULPS in registry and hope for the best , as this solution does not work 100%, but just alleviate the problem.
Im sorry i was talking about my GPU, yes it is a 2024 GPU, i understand that this driver version is compatible with other GPUs just not for mine.
Later today ill try with what you suggest and let you know if it works
Thanks
