Quick question regarding AMD 6950xt junction/core temperature deltas!

Hey all,

Thanks for taking a look at this.

I recently bought/installed a new Powercolor 6950xt Red Devil 16gb GPU and am seeing a delta of about 25-30 degrees C on games like Modern Warfare II / Vanguard. Core temp will be around 65/70 and junction temp will hover in the mid/high 90's but very rarely at/over 100. It will jump to low 90's within 30 seconds of getting into the main menu and then drop way down to 70's/80's when I minimize the game / open Adrenaline overlay.

I adjusted my fan curve to hit 100% pretty much anything over 85 degrees and am undervolting just down to 1175 in Adrenaline (still relatviley new to all of this) which doesn't seem to help a ton but my question is, if the fan noise doesn't bother me, is there any reason to panic / explore the option of reapplying thermal paste? I'd rather leave it like it is, but don't want to potentially damage the card long term with the limit being ~"110 degrees C." I was reading normal deltas are up to 20ish degrees on these cards but mine can creep into the 30ish range.

Again, if fan noise doesn't bother me and junction temp stays just under 100 is there any reason to be concerned at all for long term use?

Thanks!

AMD 6000 series GPU cards all have the same HOTSPOT Maximum Operating Temperature of 110c.  So if the hottest your GPU card gets is in the 90's that is normal and well withing its Maximum Operating Temperature.

If it should go above 110c then the GPU card will automatically start to slow down or throttle to keep the temperature at 110c or below.
