Hi guys,
I am having some difficulty troubleshooting low performance on a XFX RX 6800. In Baldur's Gate 3, I am getting from 45-62 FPS on 1440p (165Hz monitor) Ultra settings (which bumps to 78-95 FPS on Low settings), benchmarks indicate I should be achieving at least double what I'm getting. My PC is just a week old, I hadn't noticed any issues in other games though none were particularly graphically demanding (e.g. Civ series).
My specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 7600
Asrock B650M Pro RS WiFi
XFX Speedster SWFT 319 Radeon RX 6800 16 GB
G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 - 32 GB: 2 x 16 GB - 6000 MHz / PC5
Lexar NM790 2 TB - SSDM.2 - 2 TB - NVMe 1.4 - PCI Express 4.0 x 4
Gigabyte GP-UD850GM - 80 PLUS Gold - 850 Watt - 100-240 V
I have run GPU-Z and everything seems normal (open to correction): Image
I have also run a 3DMark Steel Nomad test, which shows my GPU/CPU combo is in the lowest 2% compared to systems using same components and achieving about half the score.
I have searched around and have tried everything that has been suggested including:
- Fully updated drivers (Driver Version 24.10.37.04-240823a-407010C-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition)
- Turned off V-Sync (both in-game and monitor settings)
- Turned off anti-aliasing
- Turned off/adjusted additional shadowing and rendering settings in game (all turned off gives a 4-6 FPS bump)
- FPS cap turned off in game settings
- Ensured correct GPU is selected in game settings
- Turned on Best Performance mode in Windows
- Ensured display/monitor refresh rate set to 165Hz
- Tried both HDMI and DisplayPort cables
- Disabled AMD FreeSync in Adrenaline
- Ensured Chill Mode is off
- Enabled XMP in BIOS (was turned off initially)
- Ensured ResizeBAR is enabled in BIOS and Adrenaline
- Normal power usage from GPU
- Temperatures low-normal
- GPU utilisation >75%+ in-game
- Re-seated GPU to ensure proper fit
- GPU power cords all fully inserted
- GPU in correct slot and using PCI x16 4.0
If anyone has any further suggestions or advice, that would be most appreciated. I am at my wit's end trying to figure this out.
Let me know if you need any other info! Thanks!
