I have a Windows 7 Pro 64 Media Center DVR build with an Intel DG965MQ BTX motherboard running an E6700 Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz CPU and it only has a 1st generation PCI Express x16 slot. It is believed that my current nVidia graphics card maybe causing my machine to go into a comma when coming out of sleep. This is a known GT 1030 issue. When I go on vacation, I must disable the card so I do not miss any HDTV recordings.
Therefore, I would like to try an AMD chip graphics card in its place. What would be the best AMD graphics chip model to try that is backward compatible to the PCIE x16 Gen 1 interface? Full or half height, single slot, and not too long. Of course I would have to get it used, because none of the new stuff supports Gen 1 anymore. Thank you all for your valuable time!
