A few specs:
Card: Radeon RX 6800 XT, 16G
CPU: 12th Gen Intel i9-12900k
Problem:
When I'm running any kind of moderately graphics game (Satisfactory, Remnant II, Destiny 2, Titanfall 2, etc.) my graphics card will periodically lock up my whole system, freezing the game for about a half a second along with anything else running (youtube videos, music, etc.) . It doesn't happen every time, but it happens most times. And when I look at the monitoring, these moments are very obvious. Clockspeed and power consumption drop through the floor and and the whole machine pauses for about half a second and then starts again:
As far as I can tell, it's not a power consumption or heat issue, as everything is running well below specs. It doesn't happen during non-gaming use, and doesn't happen with more retro or 8-bit games like Carrion, FNAF, Omori, etc.
I've updated drivers for motherboard and graphics card and anything else I could find.
I'm open to suggestions on how to troubleshoot at this point. Hoping the community has a few ideas?
