No signal to monitor (Dual DVI to Displayport)

Dell Inspiron 5675 with an rx580, 1HDMI and 3DP (no DVI connector)- Win10.

Primary monitor is working fine on DP, second monitor is an Achieva Shimian with only a single Dual link DVI connector.  I've purchased DVI to HDMI and DVI to DP cables but so far can't get a signal on the monitor.  Drivers are Radeon Adrenaline 18.5 (latest version).  With the HDMI cable the OS locks the resolution at 1920x1080 (option to change is greyed out) yet no signal on the monitor - the Radeon utility sees the monitor.  With the DP cable the OS sees that there's a monitor but all settings are blanked out (no resolution, etc.) and teh Radeon utility doesn't see the monitor.

Hoping for some help in figuring out what I need to get this working...

Do I need an active adapter and if so, hoping for a recommendation.

Thanks for any help.

Your passive adapter may not be compatible with the Monitor or GPU card. Passive adapter are cheaper but tend to be less compatible than Active adapter which are more expensive.

The best adapters are "Active" which converts the signal from HDMI or DP to DVI-D to the monitor and tends to be the most compatible adapters.
