Hello, sorry for the long title.

As described above, I've bought a second-hand (Amazon Warehouse) Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700XT Special Edition. It works just fine, apart from some crashes here and there in games, the biggest problem is that I've downloaded the TRIXX software (latest version) for my RX 5700XT and since the first day, when I try to do the "Fan health test", the fans get at their maximum speed but in the application it appears to detect them not moving at all (0 RPM, and infact later on it shows me an error suggesting me to contact the retailer I bought the GPU from because the fans do not work properly), and when I try to change the colors, it doesn't do anything, it stays to the same static color that there was from the boot. Even in the AMD Adrenaline software the "Fan speed" value is stuck to 30 RPM even if I boot a game up (and of course the fans start spinning faster). I Obviously have all the recent drivers.

The interesting fact, is that a friend of mine suggested me to get into Safe Mode and to do a clean uninstall of the gpu drivers by using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), and to install again the drivers later on. I did that and surprisingly, After i opened up TRIXX software I did another Fan health check and it detected 3000 rpm (and even in the AMD software) and I was finally able to change the colors to the LEDs.

This was possible for only 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of me customizing the lights, the TRIXX software randomly crashed and when I opened it up again, I actually went to the start, because the fans, both in the AMD software and TRIXX, weren't detected again, and I was not able anymore to change the colors. I repeated the process of DDU in safe mode and reinstall the drivers, uninstalled TRIXX software (thinking it caused the problem), but again I was able to monitor my fans RPM in the AMD software for just 4-5 minutes before it bugged again and got stuck to 30 RPM even if they were spinning faster.

Anyone have my same problem with this GPU? Or do you have some advice for me on how to solve this situation or what could be the problem? Thanks in advance!

1. install 20.12.1 with "Factory Reset" option
2. install latest Sapphire Trixx
3. set RGB via Trixx and Fans via Wattman
4. boom

Just curious if you had any luck resolving this? I'm pretty sure I have the exact same issue. The fans spin up super loud but Radeon only registers them at 29 RPM. Did the one respondent's suggestion help in your case?

Hello,

This is a common little problem caused by an app called RGB FUSION. Don't worry you 5700XT is fine. You just need to uninstall RGB fusion, and the rpm and rgb will  be displayed correctly.
