Any help with this one?
This one is bugging me since system restart fixes the problem but again system has to be restarted.
Any chance of giving a more detailed explanation plus your computer information. Is this a laptop or PC or All-In-One PC?
Miniport on GPU card or motherboard or laptop? Which device failed to start with status?
Fault comes from RX 7900 XTX. It gives 2 faults, Kernel PnP Error 411 "Device had a problem starting" and "Miniport driver failed to start device with status". Both faults are cleared after system reboot.
System contains:
- AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
- Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero bios 4805
- 32 gigs of ram (4x8)
- EVGA P5 1000W Platinum PSU.
GPU has latest drivers (24.6.1) and rerolling to 24.5.1 doesn't do anything. AMD software is installed with minimal install so there aren't any overclocks because i can't turn off cpu auto overclock from the full software. AMD Ryzen Master isn't installed either.
I've done fresh OS install 2 times and GPU drivers multiple times after clearing them with AMD cleaning utility but problem stays regardless of those actions. Don't know if this driver error message helps on the matter:
Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_744C&SUBSYS_E4711DA2&REV_C8\6&28cf2cbf&0&00000019 had a problem starting.

I'll do clean driver install one more time, if the problem persist i''ll return the card and take RTX 4080 Super instead.
You only see that 'had a problem starting' on a driver install, that driver has a manual start trigger in registry.
Ignore it, for some reason windows does not see or report it as running.
But when that happens it also gives driver error 43 and screen is in low resolution. Again restarting the system clears the faults. That gives me a hint that it isn't hardware related.
It's annoying since i got limited time on using the system and all that time goes to troubleshoot. And i paid nearly 1300€ for the Nitro+ card so i expect it to work as advertised.
System has been running alright now, probably because i didn't install full AMD software and there isn't heinous cpu auto overclock present. All PBO and Curve Optimizer stuff are made in BIOS.
Code 43 in dev. man. will have a different error message than the one you mentioned.
Check in Windows power plan, advanced options, and turn off 'Fast Startup'. Can cause issues with recognizing driver install in some cases.
Maybe posting images of the dev. man., with the miniport and graphics driver errors would be helpful.
I have the same issue with an RX580. Full specs available at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1J05qHj1KkU0QWDovDyqQGCa8yAj5F1J5/view?usp=sharing
Go and start you own thread, your post here will be ignored and no help will be offered.
Problem has come back. Now eventlog shows this error.
